Guess what?! I have another blog for you reporting another kids exercise study! I hope you’re not bored with these and actually find it useful information.
The new study suggests that overweight children who exercise after school become more fit … duh! What I did find interesting in the study is that the kids also seemed to be less likely to slam doors, hit other kids or express anger in aggressive ways.
Dr. Catherine L. Davis of the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta says, “It may help children control their anger, and that might be because they’re in a better mood because they don’t get angry as much, and it might also be an aspect of self-control.”
I don’t think she’s suggesting that overweight kids are more aggressive than fit kids. I think her point was that they are maybe more likely to be bullied or to bully others.
Bottom line is that kids need to exercise just like adults need to exercise. That will never change.
